The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning families to immediately stop using Fasando-branded baby loungers after determining that the products violate the mandatory standard for Infant Sleep Products and pose multiple life-threatening hazards. About 6,200 of the loungers were sold online, and the agency has linked the product to an infant death earlier this year.

According to CPSC, the loungers create an unsafe sleeping environment due to several design failures. The agency states that “the sides are too low to contain an infant and the enclosed openings at the foot of the loungers are wider than allowed, posing fall and entrapment hazards.” In addition, the loungers “do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard if used on elevated surfaces.” CPSC warns that these violations “can cause death or serious injury.”

Infant Death Reported in 2025

The CPSC confirmed that an infant death occurred in 2025 involving one of these loungers. The agency reports, “A two-month-old was reportedly found unresponsive after being placed to sleep in a Fasando-branded baby lounger on top of an adult bed.”

Following the incident, CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller—Qiyangshiqiguangyuekejiyouxiangongsi, doing business as Fasando, of China. However, the agency notes that the company “has not agreed to recall these baby loungers or offer a remedy to consumers.”

Sold on Amazon and Possibly Other Websites

Roughly 6,200 Fasando baby loungers were sold online at Amazon.com from August 2024 through July 2025 for about $35 each. Fasando was the only seller of these branded loungers on Amazon, though CPSC acknowledges that “the loungers may have also been sold on other websites.”

What the Products Look Like

The loungers include a foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers covered in cloth. They were sold in several colors and prints, including grey elephant, baby blue animals, blue animals, gold elephant, pink lion, and yellow elephant. Each lounger features snaps and a ribbon tie at the bottom, and “Fasando” appears on a bright blue stitched label on the cover. Manufacturing information is printed on the product’s packaging label. All loungers were manufactured in China.

CPSC’s Instructions for Parents

The CPSC is urging parents and caregivers to take immediate action. The agency’s guidance is clear:

“CPSC urges consumers to immediately stop using the baby loungers, remove the foam padding, cut the cover in half and dispose of the cover and padding. Do not sell or give away these hazardous baby loungers.”

While the product’s company has refused to work with the CPSC, the agency “continues to advise firms to stop sale of non-compliant infant sleep products regardless of the date of manufacture.”

Safe Sleep Reminder for Families

As part of the warning, the CPSC provided a reminder about safe sleep practices for infants:

  • “The best place for an infant to sleep is on a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet or play yard.”
  • “Use a fitted sheet only and never add blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or other items to an infant’s sleeping environment.”
  • “Infants should always be placed to sleep on their back. Infants who fall asleep in an inclined or upright position should be moved to a safe sleep environment with a firm, flat surface such as a crib, bassinet or play yard.”
